Playbook for Kids
by J. Gregory Hoffman, M.D.


INTRODUCTION

Sports Medicine Playbook is written by J. Gregory Hoffman, M.D. a family physician who specializes in sports medicine with Family Medicine Associates in Joshua.  Dr. Hoffman received his medical degree from University of Texas Medical School at Houston, and his family practice and sports medicine training at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston.  He is currently Team physician for Joshua High School as well as medical consultant for other local high schools.  He has served as medical consultant for Brazos Valley Football Association for several years.  Dr. Hoffman played college basketball and coaches his 4 children in youth sports, keeping him in touch with issues important to parents and young athletes.

In the coming weeks, look for articles on heat illness and hydration, concussions, care of on-field injuries, fractures/sprains, overuse injuries, and sports nutrition.  I hope that you enjoy and learn from my articles.
